Frequently Asked Questions
I selected a photo but nothing got converted.
Make sure the selected item is actually a Live Photo. The conversion can also fail if the original wasn't downloaded from iCloud yet — try again on Wi-Fi, or open the photo once in the Photos app so iOS caches the original.
Where are converted files stored?
They are saved inside the app's Documents folder and are reachable from the Files app under On My iPhone → Live Photo Converter. The same list appears inside the app under My Files.
Which formats can I export?
APNG (high quality, transparent), GIF (universal), WebP (efficient), and video (mp4). APNG, GIF, and WebP are silent image formats; choose video (mp4) to keep the sound. Image formats are downsampled to FPS 24 and 360px wide by default.
My exported APNG doesn't animate in the Photos app.
The iOS Photos app shows APNG as a still image only (a system limitation). It animates correctly in the app's preview, Safari, or macOS Preview. For animation everywhere, use GIF or video (mp4).
Can I remove ads?
The app is currently free with ads. An ad-free option may be added in a future update.
Why does the app ask for App Tracking Transparency?
iOS requires apps to ask before using the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to show more relevant ads. If you decline, all app features still work — only non-personalized ads are shown. See the Privacy Policy for details.
I denied photo access. How do I re-enable it?
Open iOS Settings → Live Photo Converter → Photos and choose either "Selected Photos" or "Full Access".
How do I delete converted files?
Swipe to delete from My Files inside the app, or remove them directly from the Files app.
