Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Hangeul Blocks app ("the app", "we", "us") handles information. We built Hangeul Blocks to be private by design: we do not collect, sell, or rent your personal information. The app has no user accounts and never asks for your name, email, or phone number to function.
1. Information we do not collect
The app has no login or registration. We do not collect your real name, email address, contacts, photos, precise location, or any directly identifying information on our own servers — because we do not operate servers that store your personal data.
2. Information processed on your device and in your iCloud
Learning progress. Your scores, streaks, review schedule, and game settings are stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, this data may sync across your own Apple devices using Apple's iCloud (CloudKit). It is stored in your iCloud account; we cannot read it. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
3. Purchases
Hangeul Blocks offers a single optional one-time in-app purchase ("Premium"). All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see or store your payment-card details. Apple shares with us only an anonymous receipt confirming whether the purchase is active, so the app can unlock Premium features.
4. Advertising
The free version of the app may show banner advertising through Google AdMob. To support relevant ads, AdMob may process limited device and advertising identifiers.
- On iOS, the app requests your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before any tracking for advertising. If you decline, ads are shown in a non-personalized form.
- Where required, we present a consent form (Google UMP) so you can manage ad-related choices.
- Purchasing Premium removes ads entirely.
Google's handling of this data is described in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services."
5. Children's privacy
Hangeul Blocks is suitable for all ages. To protect younger learners, the app uses an age screen. When a user indicates they are under 16, the app runs in a child-safe mode: advertising and third-party tracking are turned off. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will address it.
6. Analytics
The app does not include third-party advertising analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs beyond what is described above for advertising. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized App Store and crash statistics if you have opted in to share analytics with developers in your iOS settings; this data is not linked to your identity.
7. Data summary
| Data | Purpose | Who handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Learning progress & settings | Save your progress, sync across your devices | On device + your iCloud (Apple) |
| Purchase receipt | Unlock Premium | Apple (StoreKit) |
| Advertising & device identifiers | Show ads (free version, adults only, with consent) | Google AdMob |
8. Your choices
- Change ad tracking anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Remove ads by purchasing Premium.
- Delete all local progress by removing the app; manage iCloud data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
9. Data retention & security
Because progress is stored on your device and in your own iCloud, you remain in control of it. We apply reasonable measures appropriate to an app that holds no central database of users.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
