통감절요(通鑑節要)는 사마광의 『자치통감』 294권을 50권으로 간추린 책입니다. 북송의 선비 강지(江贄)가 집안 아이들을 가르치려고 요긴한 대목만 골라 엮었고, 휘종은 그에게 소미선생(少微先生)이라는 호를 내렸습니다. 정작 중국에서는 크게 읽히지 않았으나 조선에서는 '통감'이라 불리며 서당의 초학 교재로 오백 년을 살아남았습니다. 이 앱은 그 가운데 고사성어의 출전이 된 대목을 109과 122구절로 골라 담았습니다. 주(周)에서 오대(五代)까지 빈 시대가 없습니다.
Tonggam Jeoryo is a Song-dynasty abridgement of Sima Guang's Zizhi Tongjian, cutting 294 volumes down to 50. It was compiled by the scholar Jiang Zhi for the children of his own household. Little read in China, it became a standard first reader in Korean village schools for five centuries. This app selects the passages that gave rise to well-known Chinese idioms — 109 lessons, 122 passages, spanning Zhou to the Five Dynasties.
